TYPES AND AMOUNTS OF GRANTS AWARDED<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Benton Telecommunications Foundation awards grants up to $25,000. 
For requests under $2,000 the Small Grant Application<\/a> is required. The small grants are reviewed monthly and may be submitted at any time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For requests over $2,000 a 50% match and the Full Grant Application<\/a> is required. Upcoming full grant deadline dates: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Letter of inquiry needs to be received by December 10, 2025 and the full proposal deadline is January 12, 2026. The grants will be awarded by February 4, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Letter of inquiry needs to be received by April 8, 2026 and the full proposal deadline is May 8, 2026. The grants will be awarded by June 8, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Letter of inquiry needs to be received by August 12, 2026 and the full proposal deadline is September 12, 2026. The grants will be awarded by October 12, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AREAS OF INTEREST:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The foundation emphasizes grant making in the following areas that are specifically designed to support projects\/programs and will not be used for organizational overhead or administrative expenses:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Healthy Living:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Programs and initiatives which promote an integrated approach to healing and wellness including the mind, body, heart and spirit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Basic Human Needs and Services:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Programs and initiatives which provide funds and assistance to suffering individuals and families who may need the following due to poverty, illness, sudden loss of property, or the result of a natural or civic disaster.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Shelter<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Clothing<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Transportation<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Healthcare<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Educational and Personal Development:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

    Programs and initiatives for youth and adults leading to personal growth, societal impact and a deeper understanding of the world and its’ diverse cultures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • Emphasis on youth leadership and mentoring.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      Community Development:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

      Programs designed to develop and improve communities, with an emphasis on the municipalities located in Benton County, Minnesota.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      \n\n\n\n

      Factors Considered<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

      The Foundation considers the following factors in review of applications:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      1. The potential benefit of the proposed activities of the particular population to be served and to the community as a whole.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      2. The capacity of the organization or individual to achieve the desired results.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      3. The adequacy of the projected budget and time period for achieving the desired results.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      4. The likelihood of future support for ongoing operating costs from other sources.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      5. The level of financial need of people whose circumstances may be the result of a natural, civil or personal disaster.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      6. Others factors which are deemed relevant by the Foundation and are reasonable related to the charitable purposes of the Foundation.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n
